  6. Getting Started

  8. This Guide file requires a Mac with System 7.5 or higher and Apple Guide
  9. installed.  The guide file should be located in the same folder as WebSTAR
  10. (WebSTAR should be version 1.0 or higher).  The guide file can be accessed
  11. from the help menu (what used to be the balloon help menu) whenever 
  12. WebSTAR is running.
  13.  
  14. This Apple Guide file is similar to an online help file; however, it takes
  15. advantage of Apple's new interactive help features.  Apple's guidelines
  16. for creating Apple Guide files were used to create this WebSTAR guide
  17. file.

  19. Now a short explanation of what this file is and what it is not.
  20.

  22. The WebSTAR Guide file:

  24.         -explains WebSTAR settings
  25.         -explains WebSTAR Menus
  26.         -explains WebSTAR Features
  27.         -explains the status window
  28.         -explains how to configure WebSTAR
  29.  
  30. The WebSTAR Guide file does not:
  31.  
  32.         -explain how to create HTML documents
  33.         -explain how to create GIFS or JPEG images
  34.         -explain how to create Forms or image maps
  35.         -explain how to serve documents
  36.         -explain how to configure MacTCP or other System files
  37.  
  38.  
  39. These features are not included in the WebSTAR Guide because Apple's
  40. guidelines state these files should be contained in either tutorial guide
  41. files or separate documentation.  If sufficient demand exists and time
  42. permits, I may create a separate tutorial file to cover the areas listed
  43. above.
